Variables
Use Orchestration > Variables to inspect, compare, edit, copy, import, export, and manage DaVinci variables.
Variables often contain environment-specific values. Review destination values carefully before copying or deploying flows that reference them.
Common Uses
- Review variable definitions and values.
- Compare variables between environments.
- Copy variables to a destination environment or repository target.
- Export variables before migration.
- Prepare destination environments for migrated flows.
Basic Workflow
- Select an Org Root.
- Select a source environment.
- Optionally select a destination environment or repository target.
- Search for the variable.
- Open the row to inspect or edit details.
- Copy or export as needed.
Before Copying Variables
Confirm:
- The destination environment should receive the source value.
- The variable is not intentionally different in each environment.
- Secrets or sensitive values are handled according to your operating policy.
- Dependent flows are reviewed before deployment.
Director Dependency Awareness
Director migrations may rely on destination variables. Prepare required variables before executing a migration or resolve variable-related issues when Director reports them.
Repository Use
Variables can be loaded from or written to enabled repository targets. Mixed repository folders are parsed carefully, but you should still point FlightIQ to the intended variables path.
Troubleshooting
If variables do not appear, confirm:
- Source environment is selected.
- Worker app has DaVinci read access.
- Search and filters are cleared.
- Repository path points to variable content when using a repository source.
